I really, really need to get used to movies that don't end like BW movies. I mean, I just watched The Terminal and I know it was good. I mean, like I realise it was good, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and it was lovely seeing a movie where the main female lead, while undeniably not much more than a pretty face (with a lot of talent, though), didn't strip and start having sex within 15 minutes of the movie's start. -BUT- What on earth was wrong with the movie, you might say? Well, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Tom Hanks didn't get together at the end of the movie, and that is slightly bugging me. I mean, I sort of knew that would happen (aka SYMBOLISM the fountain FORESHADOWING isn't HINT HINT working... WINK WINK NUDGE-NUDGE-NUDGE-NUDGE) but I was slightly hoping at the same time that she would show up at the last minute with her suitcase packed and ready to go [to Krakozia, however it was spelled]. But no, she chose the more-or-less abusive, unfaithful jerk of a guy who is already married. I mean...what is up with that? Argh. It's not the movie to which I'm reacting (no, that would be overkill). It's the fact that I can't deal with sad endings. Whatever. I'm off to go watch KKHH. |

Oh wow...I haven't updated in almost three months or something. Well, I will be updating now. I think. Ooh, book recommendation. Read Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier. It's a very good book, with some genuinely scary bits that should be read in the middle of the night. I saw Hulchel! Wow, what mindless drivel. I mean, are you telling me that Kareena's 'confession' was a part of her plan? No, it wasn't. It was a contrived plot device. Whenever we needed to see Kareena-character-development (wow, can't belive I just used those words together) we say Khanna fight scenes. That movie made no sense. And the humour was gross, disgusting slapstick comedy. Some funny moments, though. Songs so-so. Not great. Jackie Sharoff looks like the watch-model guy from Zoolander, no? Especially in the movie. (my friend insists that she has met Jackie Sharoff. Interesting. Apparently he was so tall his head almost touched the ceiling. Lucky girl. I met Matthew Broderick and got his signature!) |

And Carly Patterson delivers! It wasn't as nail-biting as yesterday, but it was amazing in its own way...she was just so calm and collected on floor and beam. Not a cringe, not a single sweat drop. Her face wasn't even shiny by the end... Wow her beam routine was AMAZING~! That makes it 35 medals for the Unites States, with 14 gold, 11 silver, and 10 bronze. *Note that while Mary-Lou was the first, it was a boycotted games ('84). The same with the last men's gymnastics team final AND Mark Spitz's record.* |

OH MY FREAKING GOD. PAUL HAMM DID IT!! HE FREAKING SAT DOWN OUT OF BOUNDS ON HIS VAULT. HE HAD TO BE STEADIED BY THE FREAKING [AWESOME*] JUDGES. HE GOT A FREAKING 9.137 AND STILL FREAKING DID IT!! &$%()$%)&#)%*&$ )*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Also note that the judges suck because they gave Bret McClure a god-awful score on his very good still rings routine. Starting value of 9.500 my very sore bum. Of course, all the promises I made to God during the broadcast means that pretty soon I shall be smote dead. If not from "my" God, then from the "Christian" God for blatantly breaking one of those commandments about a million times. |

1) What do you do when somebody randomly msgs. you and says 'hi' and wants to chat? Start talking. Don't say anything about myself, though. 2) How many times have you ever filled out surveys like this? Not many. 3) Do you prefer playing group sports (like soccer or basketball) or solo sports (swimming, tennis, etc.)? Depends which sport we're talking about here. Softball, which I adore, is strictly a group activity. I can't stand tennis, but I love to swim. 4) Do you think Gil Ofarim is handsome?? (sorry =P) *fish face* 5) Why are you filling out this survey anyway? Because the Olympics only start at 6pm. 6) If you could take up another language, what language would you choose? Samskirta, Hindi, some Indian language. 7) Do you mainly buy CDs or download MP3s? If ever, I'd buy the CD. 8) Who do you usually talk to whenever you are online? Those on-line. I barely am. 9) Which of these smileys do you prefer using? :), =), ^_^ or ^^ ^_^ 10) What colour are the walls of your room? My room in my house is this odd sea-green-ish colour. 11) What is your favourite sitting position? Cross-legged, back straight. 12) Do you like those desktop walking things? *dead fish face* 13) What musical instruments do you play? Flute. I also played the piccolo for a bit. 14) What's your CCA(co-curricular activity.. you know, choir, band, science club, etc)? Flute. But, in true Asian style, I'd have to say dance, orchestra, choir, another orchestra, Sunday school, and tentative martial arts. 15) Gil is handsome, right??? =P (really sorry) Of course, darling.... 16) What's your favourite instant noodle flavour? Masala. 17) How long is your hair? Really long. 18) When was the last time you spoke to your crush? Huh. Don't have one at the moment. 19) What programme do you use to download stuff? mIRC, the intelligent legal way to download. 20) Do you like to listen to oldies? What are oldies? I listen to REAL oldies, like dead guys from the 1700s. 21) Which country would you like to live in? I'd like to stay in the States, actually. Anywhere is fine, as long as its small, quiet, and not India-ville. 22) Would you dare to go to Bali now that it has been attacked? That was almost last year. 23) What would you do if your computer malfunctions? Fix it. I'm a tech junkkie. 24) Where do you get your inspiration from? Those one-week spurts of hormones. 25) If you had to choose between living in a desert or the North Pole for a month, which would you choose? Well. Considering that living at the North Pole would entail living ON A BOAT for a month, and considering that this a fictional survey and doesn't impose any restrictions, I'd live in a mansion in the middle of the desert. At least the floor wouldn't rock and I could read. 26) What is your favourite vegetable? (lol, so lame, i'm running out of questions) Potato. 27) What was your ambition when you were a little kid? As from my yearbook, I wanted to become a pediatrician. 28) Do you like durians? Huh? 29) Whose personality is similar to yours? I really don't know. According the the Meyers test, 10% of the population is like me. Then again, how many optimistic sarcastic people do you know? 30) What was the longest survey you ever filled out(how many questions)? I'm not that pathetic. Choose one...» 31) Violin or piano? At anything below professional, piano. If the violinist is good enough, then violin. 32) Green or blue? Green. 33) Watching TV or playing computer? Computer. 34) Coke or Pepsi? Don't drink soda. 35) Subjects like maths and science or subjects like english, literature, etc? (sorry, i so dumb dunno what they're called =P) I have to say that if it's based on just the teacher, then I like "subjects like maths and science." However, I've had some excellent teachers that have made the moresubjective subjects amazing. What was the last thing you...» 36) thought about? This test, dummy. 37) ate? Dinner. God, I'm starving. I had yoghurt rice and a type of condiment. 38) drank? H20. 39) listened to? My grandmother's devotional tapes. 40) talked to? My grandmother. But note that this is under the heading of "...last thing you talked to?" In that case, it would be my mirror, to which I said, "God, that's disgusting," in referrence to the god-awful mess. 41) How would you rate this survey? As much (or as little, I'll give it some credit) useless as the rest. |

Seems like wherever one might go, neoptism will follow. Mother: Hello? Yes, I'd like...no, I don't...couldn't you just give me...LK Moorthy (my grandfather). Yes, I'm his daughter. Yes, is he there? I'll hold, thank you. *thwap* |

I feel like a complete bitch. A complete and utter let-down as a friend and person. So I was planning on attending the barbeque of my friend today. She's had one every year since...oh, I don't know. Forever. And this year most of the normal visitors couldn't make it, so I really wanted to be there for her (every year we're forced to socialise with people we don't know as well and wouldn't want to). And it turns out that we agreed to go to someone's Araangatram months ago (say, March?). And, instead of starting at 6 like they generally do, this one starts at 4, reception's at 3:30. That means we have to leave 3, and I can't even be there for a few minutes. Damn. |
